widget: embed an idea marketplace in your website

Please read my newer post about our improved widget.

Just for the record, here is the old blog post about the widget.

So far, if you wanted to use an idea marketplace it had to happen at our site: www.allourideas.org.  But now, just as you can embed a video from youtube into your site, you can embed an idea marketplace in your site using our new widget functionality. For example, here’s an idea marketplace that was created by the Princeton School of Engineering (feel free to participate):

To make your own widget like this, just create an idea marketplace.  Then, modify this iframe code to match the name of your idea marketplace and insert it into your webpage.

<iframe src=”http://widget.allourideas.org/[your_idea_marketplace]?width=450&height=410” width=450 height=410 frameborder=0> </iframe>

Right now we only have one size, 450 by 410, but more sizes may be coming soon.  If you’d like to use the widget in a different size or a different way, let us know.

The widget functionality was created by Brian Tubergen, one our great student developers who is supported by the Google Summer of Code program that funds college students to work on open source software projects.
